The English is a very important language in this days, is the international language through which we can communicate anywhere in the world.
If you want travel, or to study in other country, even in our daily lives, in the University often we must search quality information for different subjects, in this situation you must search a paper published in a major scientific journal, but this information is published in English. For these and other reasons is very important understand this language.
I my case, I can understand a text in English, but is difficult to me understand a conversation or talk with fluent this language.
I always have though that the best way to learn anything is "learning by doing", for this I think that the instance in which I have learned more is doing the blogs. I think that it is very good to write occasionally some lines about different topics because it is similar to real situation, it is more real, and it helps us to simplify one idea, learn more vocabulary, and this way we reach a better perform in the English language.
Also, it is very funny write when the topic we like. But, in my personal experience, sometimes I had a hard time deciding what write to each blog, my imagination was sleeping in those moments. It's terrible waste of time thinking about how to start or how continue, those were my critical moment in English, Lack of Imagination... but, in general it is very good in the development of students.
Also I think that is very important the feedback , that the teacher review our text, because is very difficult improve mistake such as grammatical or spelling mistake without this, which is very important to we don't speak like Tarzan and that we can establish a fluid conversation.
The teacher is always willing to answer questions, and this like to me, because is important to feel the supported by another person who can help improve….

Africa, the continent forgotten
In the world there are many realities, as opposed how you can imagine, while you are seeing the computer, in the other side of world there is a continent in that a faucet in home, is still a dream, a pool in the garden, or a late model car was is away the reality....
countries in that all days a children death because don’t have a few of bread, countries in where the malnutrition reach high rates among the population, maybe the highest rate in the world...
Also of It being the world's poorest region, suffers the consequences of having the highest levels of the AIDS epidemic, more than 40 million people living with this disease, and the problem increase because, each time become very difficult controlled the vertical transmission
It seems to be a lie that Africa being such a continent full of natural resources (diamonds, jungle, mines, animals, etc.) is immersed in poverty. What happened?
Departed promises of the twentieth century have left the continent away from the industrialization and modernization. The consequence…. approximately three hundred million people live in poverty
The strategies and projects that have industrialized nations to "save" the region have shown total ineffectiveness. Unproductive activities have been exposed for decades....
usually says that "for that there are rich countries, poor countries must be ..." if this is the way you think "the powerful" It is clear that Africa continues to be excluded....
Sometimes I think that is very few that we can do… and that depress me

The Brain by Dr. Maldonado
The Dr Maldonado's class was very interesting, because he talked about the brain, an important issue for Physical therapists; it is the centerpiece of Neurorehabilitation. For this reason I liked very much this class. I think that this conference was very clear; it was easy to understand what Dr. Maldonado said. I also think that he used very good time, because he spoke about various topics, without devoting much time to one in particular, so I'm not bored.
He talked that the brain is very big and must conform to the space offered by our skull, that of organized multiple curves that allow compact size. More cortex, more curves.
The brain uses the 25% of oxygen of our body, the 25% of the Energy of our body. This is an organ very important for our body, for our life… The nervous system diseases are very expensive, and it uses around the 45% of the health budget in USA.
There are many myths about brain functions, and in this class Dr. Maldonado spoke of what actually happens in the brain:
The most common myth is that we think that our brain can’t be similar to animal brain, because we are more intelligent. But the truth is that the Human brain is very similar to cortex of several animals, it is the same structure. There aren’t big differences.
Other myth is every brain function is localized in a specific place of brain, because there are several functions that are activated in different brain areas simultaneously.
To simplify the functioning of the brain many say it works just like the computer, but it is a myth because, our brain don’t do one function at time, the brain send simultaneous signals all the time, it is doing several functions at the same time.
These are some of the myths that Dr. Maldonado said, He is an important scientific of Neuroscience area of University of Chile. We appreciate your participation in English class.
